Yes to this. I have been wanting deeply to see more people talk about reps, things that break, what Moved the needle, where we are still relying on the fundamentals. Once this becomes more authentic, i guess the positives will bring “true” excitement balanced with pragmatism. Not having the existing pre AI “distraction” problem to be on stereiods!
I always appreciate your thoughtful posts, even on LinkedIN. Totally agree. I love using AI, yet it feels like a useful tool and not the end of design/product/engineering. Certainly not the end of art and music or film production.
The nuance is always lost. Too much to read, not catchy enough, not compelling enough. The hype is pretty unbearable now. I was able to easily get rid of webflow for personal use, but that’s still a solid platform for small/medium business.
We need more nuanced discussions and to get past the hyperbole so we can focus on people needs. The ole human in the HCI.
Great piece - the mastery-performance point is spot on. One thing I keep chewing on: is confident doom-forecasting (jobs gone by 2027, roles dissolving) a different category from confidence theater, or just theater’s other face? Not trying to be spicy - I think it’s reasonable to ideate about the future as we consider all this - but I am honestly curious to hear your take since some of your own writing leans in that direction too.
Seriously thank you for writing this!

☝🏻to the author's post. Keep up the great writing.
Not to mention the harm that all the data centers are doing to the environment...please use AI responsibly.
I actually think a lot of the hype is warranted and I am happy to show you why I think so, and what I built (and use) that proved that to me.
Omg finally! I get inundated with companies selling ai tools and then when you scratch the surface they are half baked ideas and not fleshed out!
Thanks for writing this. Love the "show me" tip, and will be using it.
